On Thursday, November 9th a major fire destroyed the Millville Child Family Center on North 14th Street. The first alarm was sounded at 18:13 and quickly went to two alarms. The second alarm called for all available career Firefighters and mutual aid responses from South Vineland, Bridgeton, Mauricetown and Gouldtown. All responding companies joined in the fight against the blaze with the exception of Gouldtown which manned our fire station. Cumberland county fire police were also on the scene. The department was finally back in service at 23:11

Millville Fire Department frequently is called to the scene of a vehicle on fire. For whatever the reason, faulty wiring, poor maintenance or fuel leak, fires involving vehicles usually leave the vehicle extensively damaged.
