House Fire On Buck Street
On April 7, 2002 Station 30 responded to a house fire at
700 Buck Street. Upon arrival there was heavy smoke showing from the house
that was converted into 3 apartments. Everyone was out of the dwelling with
the exception of the family dog "Trigger".
Firefighter Christine Klingensmith found Trigger and
relayed him to Captain Terry DelVicario to be brought outside. Once outside
Trigger received oxygen from the paramedics with the aid of
"Trigger's" owner and is now doing fine.
It was approximately two hours total time from the alarm
time to the time reported back in service. There was a total of 31
Firefighters that responded to the call. There were no injuries reported. The
cause of the fire has been listed undetermined.

Founders Day - Millville Turns 200!
February 25, 2002 - Millville celebrated it's 200th birthday over the
past weekend at Founders Day
Millville's Bicentennial extravaganza was begun when Town Crier, P.J.
O'Neill announced to the "Fair citizens of Millville and our
distinguished visitors and friends of the Holly City of America will pay
tribute today to those whose deeds over the past two centuries enable us,
their descendants, to enjoy the fruits of those accomplishments."
"Capt. Joseph Buck" along with his wife "Ruth" was
also in attendance. It was Capt. Buck who founded the Township of
Millville in 1802. Buck, who in this century is really Greg Honachefsky,
along with Mrs. Buck, currently know as Karen Ladd-Gillespie were there to
meet and greet people the joined in the celebration.

everyone who came out and had a good breakfast at Nabb Leslie American Legion
Post #82 in support of our Fire Company. Many patrons donated
additionally by buying extra tickets. Our fund raiser was a big success
thanks to people such as you.

American Legion Post #82 were a well oiled machine in running the
breakfast. The help and camaraderie were appreciated greatly!
