Open House a Big Hit!
|
|
The Millville Fire Department opened wide the very
large doors of the Fire Hall and the public was welcomed in. Hundreds
attended the event to see what Fire Prevention and Firefighting is all
about.
There were Tours of the Fire House; Junior
Firefighters squirted "flames" on a kid-sized house.
Demonstrations and displays from Fire Prevention and Tactical Rescue
Team were also available. The Kids Safety House even held it's own
little "open house"
A special "Thank you" to the citizens of
our community for visiting and participating in this event. You all
helped make it a very successful and warm Open House. |

Crisis
Drill At Wheaton Injection
|
| Millville Fire, Police & Rescue Squads
along with the Fortescue Dive Team responded to Alcan Packaging -
Wheaton Injection Molding on Sharp Street during a "Flood
Evacuation" drill.
The scenario that was that of a disgruntled employee blowing up the
Sharp Street dam allowing millions of gallons of water from Union Lake
to flow into
and by the plant.
Ladder 35 was set up and acted as a temporary bridge across the
"stream" of water created by the flood. Search & Rescue
personnel along with the dive team searched the premises for survivors and victims.
Much was learned and plans will be formulated from the information
gathered during the drill.
The following pictures are from the drill. All pictures are
thumbnails and will enlarge by clicking on them.
