Congratulations to Our Fire Safety Winners!

April 7, 2015

Tonight Kendall Mazur and Kemoira Jones were honored by the Millville Fire Department for winning the local level of the NJ Division of Fire Safety Poster Contest.  Unfortunately, Kendall was not able to attend the ceremony, but will be awarded at a later time.  Kemoira and Kendall both received a poster print of their posters, a MFD t-shirt, a bag of fire safety goodies, and a certificate of achievement from Chief Hess.  They now move on for county judging and hopefully will move all the way to the state judging.  Good Luck, Ladies!

Congratulations Kemoira and Kendall on a Job Well Done and Good Luck on Your Way to States!

Millville Firefighters Honored for Acts of Heroism

Tuesday, April 7, 2015

On March 9, 2015, a working house fire on Mulberry Street brought out the best for all fighting the fire.  Four firefighters, though, went above and beyond the call of duty and tonight they were honored for their acts of heroism.  BC Larry Fawcett, FF Terrence Fawcett, and FF Ryan Gandy were awarded the Medal of Gallantry for their actions inside the home to help firefighters escape from the third floor.  FF Scott Haley was awarded a Medal of Courage for his actions on the fire ground in helping all five firefighters to escape the porch roof that they were on after escaping the fire through a second floor window.

Congratulations, Guys!

So, how do you get rid of the old shed in the yard?

Integrate its removal into drill and give saws, sledgehammers, and axes to this motley crew.

Crews were sent out to specified locations utilizing Active911.  Once to their address, they were asked to do tasks such as hooking to a hydrant, starting saws, etc.  While handling the tasks, the officer of the truck was to utilize the IPads in the apparatus to document the drill and coordinate with the instructors back at Station 30.

Also, Chief Hess needed the dilapidated shed in the rear of the property to go away.  So, the MFD firefighters were happy to oblige.

The following are some of the photos taken on the road and the destruction of the shed (all photos taken on .
