In His Presence Church goes to 3 Alarms

On Dec. 22, 2012, Millville Fire Co. and EMS were dispatched to the area of 222 E Broad St. for a reported commercial structure. Units arrived with heavy smoke showing from the bell tower of a large church. Strong winds caused the fire to spread quickly. Command reported heavy fire through the roof and requested the 2nd and 3rd alarms struck. Command reported exposure problems due to the strong wind. Ladders 30-16, 30-17, 1 and 2 were placed in service to knock down the heavy fire. Crews battled the large fire for about 3 hours before bringing it under control. Units from Millville Sta. 30, Vineland Sta. 1, Vineland Sta. 2, Laurel Lake Sta. 13, Gouldtown Sta. 15, Rosenhayn Sta. 29, Cumberland Sta. 23, Millville EMS, Salvation Army Canteen Unit, and Cumberland County FP assisted at the scene. County FM and Millville PD are investigating.

Gerresheimer glass had a tank leak causing glass to flow into the basement.  Water flowed until the molten glass was cooled enough to stop the leak from the tank.

Tree fell on top of triples causing the mast on the service to break.  ACE secured power to the building.
